Big Ben Medical, a prominent provider of healthcare solutions for urgent care facilities, has entered into a significant distribution agreement with binx health, a leader in laboratory diagnostics. The newly formed partnership will allow Big Ben Medical to distribute binx health’s innovative chlamydia and gonorrhea testing kits across Michigan.
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) remain a public health concern in Michigan. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there were over 43,000 reported cases of chlamydia and more than 15,000 reported cases of gonorrhea in the state in 2023. Recognizing the importance of early and accurate diagnosis, this collaboration aims to provide healthcare professionals with cutting-edge tools to combat the prevalence of these infections.
The binx io test, which is at the core of this partnership, is the first FDA-cleared and CLIA-waived diagnostic device for chlamydia and gonorrhea that delivers results in about 30 minutes. Using advanced PCR molecular technologies, the test is designed to provide results comparable to those of reference laboratories, enabling healthcare providers to diagnose and treat patients during the same visit.
"We are thrilled to partner with binx health and bring their revolutionary STI diagnostic solutions to our clients", said Abdulkader Rahmani, CEO of Big Ben Medical Supplies. "This agreement aligns with our commitment to provide the most innovative point-of-care diagnostic solutions to our clients. In this fashion, we can help them improve patient care."
The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to advancing access to diagnostic technology. By distributing binx health’s products, Big Ben Medical seeks to empower urgent care facilities and other healthcare providers to better serve their patients.
"We are excited to collaborate with Big Ben Medical in Michigan to support urgent cares and other healthcare providers in the area", said Ryan Ellenburg, Vice President of Sales at binx health. "Together, we support healthcare by providing actionable results to clinicians/patients by offering a high-quality alternative to the current landscape."
This partnership represents a step forward for both organizations in their efforts to improve the diagnosis and treatment of two of the most prevalent STIs. By leveraging innovative technology, Big Ben Medical and binx health aim to make an impact on the fight against the spread of chlamydia and gonorrhea and support healthcare professionals in delivering timely, effective care.
